In fact, as County Clerk Kathe brought in $ 1 billion in revenue through greater government efficiency --- which translates to over a $ 300 savings on average for families.
Under her leadership, the County Clerk's office is now a customer service organization that has brought cost savings to Bergen County taxpayers every single year! Not once, not twice, but every single year Kathe Donovan has been our Clerk, she has saved taxpayers' money.
Kathe Donovan reduced the Clerk's operating budget for the last two years and requested less for the 2010 office budget, all while reducing staff by 20%, yet she continues to provide the same top level of quality service.
Kathe also led successful efforts to establish a shared services program with over 60 Bergen County municipalities that allows for electronic sharing and storage of information

Fiscal Conservative, Republican Kathe Donovan will Cut the Cost of County Government While Improving Services for Taxpayers, Families and Seniors.
Support Our Teachers, Parents, Children and Taxpayers - Kathe supports teachers, who working with parents and children make for a great education. Kathe knows we need to help our teachers by stopping unfunded state mandates which impose higher taxes on our families, and we must cut the number of unnecessary administrators and shrink the wasteful education bureaucracy in our schools.
Hold the Line on Property Taxes - We must reduce the tax burden on taxpayers, families and seniors. Kathe Donovan will reduce taxes whenever possible by eliminating wasteful government spending, while still providing top notch services - just as she is doing now as our County Clerk.

Preserve Green Open Space/Environment - We need to preserve not only our parks and green open spaces but our environment too. The County Executive's office will help improve, and make more profitable, recycling in all government offices across Bergen County. Kathe will help make Bergen County greener and improve our quality of life.
Blue Laws Must Stay Intact! Blue Laws should only change through a voter referendum when, and only if, the majority of Bergen County residents in every municipality say they should change.
